The Wealth Ideation On Dopamine. When More Is Not ENOUGH.
Addiction To Materialism is a SCIENTIFIC Fact!
Peter C. Whybrow, director of the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA, grounds the extraordinary achievements and excessive consumption of the American nation in an understanding of the biology of the brain’s reward system offering for the first time a comprehensive and physical explanation for the addictive mania of consumerism.
Some writers can craft their sentences into an excellent literary style, softening the tone of the message to appeal to a broader audience. But their readers often quickly turn a blind eye to the emergency the planet is facing.
At The Mind Awakened and Truthful Planet, we present things as they are, because an authentic awakening can only be initiated by a psychological shock, prompting an urgent need to take immediate action.
Many tend to shun our articles because they associate us with some “new-age-earth-day-numbo-jumbo” followers. Still, such a stance is evidence that delving into the topic while questioning everything is paramount. We have over twenty years of investigation backing every one of our conclusions.
R.I.P ORGANIC LABEL
Chemical polymers, chemicals in the soil, and microplastics parasitizing all life forms are ubiquitous — the irrationality of competition engineers genocide and ecocide. Our unfettered consumption has made us blind to the omnipotence of Natural Order. All food supplies and waterways are contaminated today.
These crises should bring us together and highlight the URGENT need for a Decentralized Planetary Benevolent Stewardship.
But shall we listen, and if so, WHEN?
THE CURE… WHAT CURE?
The dopamine analogy is brilliant. Countless times, we’ve heard that paychecks are essential to keep us going. That without a carrot and a stick, society would collapse. It may be true at this stage, given that our global debt bubble is approximately $315 trillion, that our demise seems inevitable because we have allowed materialism to dominate our lives. A self-fulfilling prophecy?
Does anyone actually WIN at life?
THE ONLY THING THAT TRULY MATTERS:
The authentic reward comes from being admired for our humaness by the community, friends, and family. Everything has gone wrong, especially since industrialization took hold of world economies in the mid-1800s.
The promise of wealth is addictive. The more one has, the more one is, according to the consensus. And the more one lives in fear of losing everything. That’s the dopamine hook!
The system indeed operates brain reward patterns that subliminally command our actions and thoughts. This framework is also fueling our “narcissism, low self-esteem and loneliness” epidemics.
Eventually, it must all crash down with a bang. Let’s see what happens.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS STRAIGHTFORWARD.
Humans do not create anything from scratch. All comes from natural resources. Nature is the source of all creativity. We have endangered ourselves by disrupting the REGENERATIVE cycles of the planet. If we began to replenish the Earth, profiting from Life would come to an end, and so would ALL human conflicts waged for natural resources. Taking ownership of nature (extracting without replenishing) leads to ecocide and social conflicts. We must participate in the regenerative cycle for anything we borrow from nature.
But that can only happen if we declare the Planet a Common Heritage. Ownership implies self-centeredness, and giving back is an act of humility and generosity.
The REAL emergency resides in the ability to connect the dots. All our issues are inherently linked to the same core dilemma, and that without honestly dissecting the unethical appetite to live richly and amassing wealth (which is now proven SCIENTIFICALLY), problems will continue unabated until our host planet can no longer support us. We only have one home after all.
